Fairview is a volunteer run facility owned by its members. Fairview is unique in that we do not receive funding support from any HOA or organization (outside of our yearly sponsorships). This allows our Club to welcome members from many neighborhoods within the larger Charlottesville area and beyond. We are very fortunate to own a beautiful, multi-acre property with a talented and diverse membership community.
Our Club relies on volunteer efforts to operate and maintain our facility and grounds year-round. The Fairview Board of Directors do not receive any compensation or benefits for their time. We count on volunteers to keep the fun going all summer long (and beyond) by stocking our beloved and very popular Snack Bar, organizing all of our social events including Movie Nights, Trivia Nights, our 4th of July party, and Food Truck Fridays, and so much more. Therefore, it is imperative that each member is involved in our shared obligation to ensure that our Club continues to thrive.
In order to foster a larger volunteer base and to raise funds for our continued operations and future improvements (including member requested ones!), a fully refundable Maintenance Program fee of $50 will be assessed this year and will be due at the time of Membership enrollment. Once members fulfill their 2024 volunteer commitment by completing 3 hours of volunteer work for Fairview, the fee will be fully refunded. Alternatively, members who prefer not to volunteer can choose to just pay the Maintenance Program Fee instead.
This approach emphasizes the importance of our members’ contribution of time over money for the continued viability of our Club. The goal of this Maintenance Program is to reduce our costs by relying on volunteer efforts from our membership rather than needing to hire external services to complete necessary tasks.

Process for Fulfilling Volunteer Hours:
1. The Club Member:
2. The Club Member completes this Fairview Volunteer Hours Form within one week of job completion.
3. Completion of the job(s) is verified by the Fairview Board and is sent to the Treasurer for refund processing.
4. The Club Member receives the $50 refund back to the original form of Member Dues payment (cash/check or credit card). These refunds will take place on a monthly basis.
5. All volunteering for the 2024 season must be completed by October 31, 2024.
