Many Hands Make Light Work

Fairview is a volunteer run facility owned by its members. Fairview is unique in that we do not receive funding support from any HOA or organization (outside of annual sponsorships). Our Club relies on volunteer efforts to operate and maintain our facility and grounds year-round. We count on volunteers to keep the fun going all summer long (and beyond) to make sure our snack bar stays stocked, to plan social events like Movie Nights, Trivia Nights, and our 4th of July party, and to help out with facilities and grounds maintenance and repairs. It is imperative that our members support this shared obligation to ensure that our Club continues to thrive.

To foster a larger volunteer base and to raise funds for our continued operations and future improvements (including member requested ones!), Fairview will assess an annual Maintenance Program fee of $50 that will be due at the time of Membership enrollment. Members that fulfill their annual volunteer commitment by completing 3 hours of volunteer work for Fairview will receive a $50 snack bar credit.

Our Maintenance Program allows us to reduce costs by relying on volunteer efforts from our membership rather than needing to hire external services to complete necessary tasks.

Program details:

  • Each Membership type will be assessed a $50 Maintenance Program fee in addition to the annual Membership Dues at the time of (re)enrollment.
  • The Maintenance Fee will be converted to a $50 pool credit for use at the snack bar or to purchase guest passes upon completion of 3 hours of approved volunteer work completed between January 1 and October 31.  If volunteer hours are not completed by October 31, the Maintenance Fee will be used to fund operations and future improvements.
  • The volunteer hours for each Membership type must be fulfilled by members 18 years of age and older. Younger members are welcome to participate alongside adult members.
  • Volunteer hours are not transferable between members.
  • Only approved volunteer activities will count toward fulfillment of the required hours.  A list of volunteer opportunities will be shared with members as they are available.
  • Pool credits will be provided on a monthly basis to members who have fulfilled all of the hours required; there will be no partial credit issued.

Process for Fulfilling Volunteer Hours:

1. The Club Member:

  • chooses a job from the sign up list below and/or a completes a job announced in the weekly member email update; and/or
  • contacts the Board (Board@FairviewClub.org) with an idea for a job not yet on the list.  All ideas must be approved by the Fairview Board before work counts toward the required hours.

2. The Club Member completes the Volunteer Log (in your Member Dashboard) within one week of job completion.

3. Completion of the job(s) is verified by the Fairview Board and is sent to the Treasurer for refund processing.

4. The Club Member receives the $50 refund back to the original form of Member Dues payment (cash/check or credit card).  These refunds will take place on a monthly basis.

5. All volunteering for the 2024 season must be completed by October 31, 2024.
